Why You Will Stay Broke If You Stay In A Traditional MLM or Network Marketing Business

I know that this isn’t what you want to hear right now, especially if you just invested good money to get into your Network Marketing business, but hey…someone needs to tell you what’s really going on here.

Let me start by stating the facts…

  • 97% of all Network Marketers spend more than they earn each week on their business
  • 95% of all Network Marketers will never recruit more than 5 people into their business
  • Only 0.5% of all Network Marketers earn a consistent 5 figure monthly income

Okay, now I don’t know about you, but those are some pretty horrible statistics. These are official by the way. You can find these numbers if you do some good research online.

Now I know what you’re thinking.

“Who cares about the numbers!”

“I’m going to prove them all wrong and be the 0.5% who makes 5 figures per month!”

You know how I know that? Because that’s what I told myself when I first got started!”

And you probably already know my story, but if you missed it, let me just reiterate the low points:

I first started by joining an MLM. I busted my tail in it for 4 years and did everything my upline told me to do. I destroyed relationships with my friends and family, and handed out fliers while walking my baby. I was lucky enough to make a few sales from all this. I worked on absolute blind faith sure that this was going to work for me. People left my team more quickly than I could replace them. I kept pouring more money into the business, and was recognized as a top producer, even though I was spending much more on the business than I was earning each month. But I had to keep smiling and telling everyone what a great business it was even though I knew that hardly anyone would earn a good income. It made me sick. And just when I started losing faith in the entire industry…

That’s When I Found PRO

I look back now and know what I did wrong. Unfortunately, you can only do that if you have been through the experience yourself and have learned from it. If you are just getting started in this business, you will be filled with hope and excitement and it will be very difficult to see otherwise.

But let me explain to you why the success rate is so low and why it’s unrealistic to expect to earn a 5 figure income in your traditional MLM this year. Remember, I wasn’t a rookie. I was a top producer. But I was still 40k in debt and not making anywhere close to what they said I should be making. When it was all over and done with I finally realized the biggest problem. The compensation plan of the MLM industry was holding me back.

You see, MLM is designed for the LONG TERM. It is a 2-5 year plan. So don’t expect to earn a 5 figure income if you’re just starting out. You’re seriously dreaming!

The only way you can earn 5 figures in your first year in MLM, is if you recruit 50+ people every single month like a machine for a whole year. That should give you about 600 people in your downline (that may not even be enough for a 5 figure income with some compensation plans).

What about duplication you ask?

Well, we all know that duplication is extremely low in MLM companies. Well…you may not know this if you’re just getting started. So I’m telling you right now. Duplication is low. It is so low that you basically need to do all the recruiting yourself and it will take years of doing the business, and massive volumes of personal recruiting, before you find those few motivated people who are actually capable of real production.

So that whole chart where you see 2=4=8=16 blah blah….rarely ever happens. Most of the time your attrition rate is so high that more people are leaving the business than you can recruit. It’s a horrible downward spiral.

My intention here is not to bash the MLM industry. It’s where I started and it’s really how I got to this point in my career. What I do want is to share my experience and knowledge with you because there are way too many newbie entrepreneurs who come into this business thinking that it’s going to be an easy ride to the top. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but extremely few actually do it because MLM is not really designed for that. It was traditionally designed for people to earn small extra income on the side while they continued to work their full time 9 to 5 job. And maybe if they were doing well after a few years, they could eventually move into it full time.

But as we all know, this just isn’t the case today. We are living in some of the toughest times in our history and people are looking for an instant fix. They need more income NOW, not tomorrow. MLM, in this case, is not the answer.

Hey, I’m not the one who makes the rules. I’m just stating the facts and am trying to save you from a lot of heartache. And if you’re wondering why you haven’t hit the income levels you’re trying to hit in your MLM business, it’s for all the reasons I just covered above.

So what about all those people that are making $50,000, $80,000, $200,000 a month in MLM?!

Yes, It’s Possible

I did say that above remember? But all these people did not do it brand spanking new and in under a year! Okay, maybe a handful did, but they were doing some insane recruiting and are really the select handful who have the uncanny ability to recruit 50-100 people a month.

If you haven’t recruited more than 10 people this month, don’t even waste your time. You’re living a pipe dream. You have to be realistic. How many people do you think you could recruit per month if you had the right training and tools? 5? 10? 15? Well what if I told you that you could earn $10,000 every month, if you just recruited 5 people a month? Does that seem more realistic to you?

It did to me when I first got started with PRO. And that’s roughly the amount of people I need to bring into the business each month to earn $10,000. Now I currently earn much more than that but right now we’re talking about YOU and this is a good place to start. Would you rather have to recruit more people and get paid less? Or, would you like to recruit less people and earn more? I would rather work less and earn more. You should be working smarter instead of working harder. Well, that’s what we teach people to do in PRO.

I hope this article has been insightful and that you won’t make the same mistakes I did and spend years of your life trying to build a business that doesn’t really reward you for the effort you put in. It’s time to get paid what you’re worth!

So, what are you waiting for?

Submit your application right now and start working smarter…
